Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu is known as one of the top level organizations in the Jiu-Jtisu community and has built its reputation as one of the elite competition teams because of their world class instruction and revolutionary approach to the art.

IBJJF champions, Saulo and Xande Ribeiro, RJJ Association has produced champions such as Rafael Lovato Jr., who is recognized as the most decorated American champion in Jiu-Jitsu history.

The Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Association (RJJA) was founded in 1995 by the legendary, Saulo Ribeiro and is currently one of the most successful BJJ teams in the world. Saulo Ribeiro is considered to be one of the premier BJJ instructors in the world today and one of the greatest BJJ champions in history. Saulo is a 4th degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a six time World BJJ Champion, and two time ADCC Submission Grappling World Champion. Saulo is the only Jiu-Jitsu fighter in history to win world titles at five different weight divisions; a feat many believe will never be replicated. Saulo Ribeiro was born in July 1974, in Manaus, Brazil. He started training Jiu-Jitsu when he was 15 years old as a way to complement his Judo game with submissions. In December 1991, Saulo Ribeiro moved away from his hometown to pursue his academic career in Rio de Janeiro, and there began his training under Royler Gracie, at the legendary Gracie Humaita Academy. Royler Gracie would award Saulo his black belt in Jiu-Jitsu 4 years later on the 27th of November 1995, shortly after Saulo won the Brazilian Nationals Lightweight Title. In 2009, Saulo became an author of a best-selling book, with the release of the highly acclaimed “Jiu-Jitsu University”.

Saulo has produced many champions under his leadership, but the one who stands out the most is his younger brother, Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro. Xande Ribeiro is a 3rd degree Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu, a six time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, and two time ADCC Submission Grappling World Champion. He is also one of only six men in the history of Jiu-Jitsu to win 2 Absolute division (open weight) titles. Alexandre Ribeiro was born in January 1981. He started training Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 10, in his hometown of Manaus, state of Amazonas, Brazil. He started learning Jiu-Jitsu at Academia Monteiro, under the Monteiro brothers, who were purple belts at the time, under legendary Royler Gracie. At that academy, he got the nickname “Xande”, and is recognized around the world with this name. At the age of 18, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, and began training with the Gracie Humaita team. He received his black belt in March of 2001, from his brother, and Master Saulo Ribeiro.

Today, Saulo Ribeiro, alongside his brother Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro, teach at the University of Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego, California, which they also founded. They also make time to visit each of the RJJA academies every year to teach and provide their mentorship.
